Ron Howard teases Lando's costume in Han Solo movie
This Ron Howard-directing-Star-Wars deal is getting better all the time. The veteran director, who replaced Phil Lord and Chris Miller at the helm of the untitled Han Solo movie earlier this month, has been keeping us amused with utterly spoiler-free tweets from the set. But that changed Tuesday when Howard gave us these gems on Instagram and Twitter: Let's see: teal and green velvet? Flashy multi-hued jacket? There's only one man in the galaxy far, far away who could pull those colors off: Lando Calrissian, original owner of the Millennium Falcon and smoothest dude this side of Bespin. The old smoothie version of Lando was inhabited by the one-and-only Billy Dee Williams. In this spin-off movie, his younger version is being played by Donald Glover. And while rumors have suggested that the star Alden Ehrenreich required an on-set acting coach, there seems little doubt that Glover can handle the heavy burden of a beloved character. Not only did he prove his acting chops on Communityand Atlanta, but Glover now seems to have an unfair advantage. One look at that closet and it's clear he need only let his clothes do the talking. As Lucasfilm's Pablo Hidalgo wrote in an introduction to a reissued trilogy of Lando novels, "Lando Calrissian is a classy man in a galaxy that's forgotten what real class is. He's a throwback to a time when you'd dress up in more than spacer's boots or a farmboy's tunic to leave the planet." The Han Solo and Lando buddy movie is slated to glide elegantly into theaters on May 25, 2018. TopicsStar WarsView this post on Instagram
