[Best Brand] Dwight School stresses personalized learning
Since arriving in Seoul three years ago, Dwight School Seoul has been emphasizing the importance of personalized learning by recognizing individual students’ talents to ensure that they develop their own strengths and passions.
Dwight School Seoul is a part of the Dwight School family, a global network of schools spanning across Seoul, New York, London, Shanghai and Vancouver Island that dates back to 1872. Dwight’s motto of igniting the “spark of genius” in every child is built on this idea, along with a global vision and community that hold up the Dwight school network’s goal of developing future leaders.
In its effort to carry on the “Dwight legacy,” Dwight School Seoul has pushed students to pursue education beyond the purely academic: It is promoting a culture that reflects the spirit of multiculturalism. This is propelled by its culturally diverse community with over 38 different nationalities.
“At Dwight, we give students the opportunity to connect, interact and share their different perspectives and cultural experiences,” said Kevin Skeoch, the head of the school. He emphasized the importance of helping students grow to thrive in the global market, as they can receive a boost from the international experience that the school provides.
“Students can take part in overseas excursions, interact with other Dwight schools through various exchange programs including an opportunity to perform at our annual inter-Dwight school concert at Carnegie Hall in New York, a leadership academy as well as summer programs.”
One of the distinguished features of the Dwight School Seoul is that it is the first International Baccalaureate World School in Seoul and the only school to offer all three IB Programs ― a primary years program, middle years program and diploma program. It has also been accredited by the Council of International Schools and the New England Association of Schools and College.
Dwight School Seoul’s efforts has borne fruit this year, as 27 graduates were accepted at top-tier universities across the world including New York University and Purdue University in the U.S., Imperial College London in the U.K. Ecole Hoteliere de Lausanne in Switzerland, McGill University in Canada and Hong Kong University in Hong Kong.
