Kim Kardashian West said she wants President Trump 'to win' and people are not happy
In May, Kim Kardashian West met with President Donald Trump in a successful effort to free a great-grandmother serving a life sentence in prison for a first-time drug offense. Now it seems as if her willingness to believe in the Trump administration is still holding strong. In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Kardashian West took a break from selling beauty products at her KKW Beauty pop-up store to talk politics. She shared her thoughts on the ongoing "zero-tolerance" immigration policy that's separated families at the U.S. and Mexico border — but it's her comments about Trump and his administration that have people cringing. "It is really complex. It’s heartbreaking," she said when asked for her thoughts on family separations. "When you see those images, it breaks your heart and I hope that it all gets resolved. You don’t want to see these things." Later in the interview, THRreporter Ingrid Schmidt told Kardashian West, "I appreciate how you’re using your platform to make a difference on larger issues. Political issues can be so divisive." Kim's response, from THR: I try to see all sides, especially after this experience [referring to the controversy over her visit to the White House]. There’s obviously a lot that we don’t agree with, but I want him [President Trump] to win. I want him to succeed, because it's our country. It's so crazy that everyone doesn’t want that. Kardashian West's comments about wanting the president "to win" sparked controversy and conversation on Twitter from folks keeping up with the makeup mogul. Hmm.
